Today we found another reason to love Trader Joe's - mini shopping carts. I didn't think she would do it but Mini followed all directions and stayed with me when shopping. Except for the crash into the cereal display, Mini was a very good driver and even steered clear of the big shopping carts and people. She was great about taking items from me and putting them into the cart. In this picture, she's a little suspect because all the items on the cart are kiddie snacks (evil toddler eye level product placement!).
Mini is such a little helper now. She loves to wipe down tables, rinse dishes, sweep/swiffer floors, pick up garbage and throw out trash, vacuum, make beds, and a host of other chores. She's actually helping and not creating a bigger mess. She follows through and finishes each job as much as she can.
PS Let me clarify what she can do - she wipes surfaces quite diligently, can rinse plastic dishes and most silverware but mostly plays with the water, makes the bed by helping straighten sheets and putting the pillow in its place, and helps push the vacuum.

Colors and Shapes
Mini can name and recognize colors and basic shapes now. It took about a week of inconsistent teaching opportunities (check out her artwork that focused on circles) but she's got it. The funny thing is when she doesn't want to sit through a lesson, she pretends to be tired or says "I don't know" as her response to everything. She's a tricky one.
