First Day of Preschool

Grande started preschool today.  Arrived at 8:45am and made it to 4:15pm with only one cry.  Teachers said he played all day, drank milk for his lunch, and slept an hour.  Zhou Lao Shi tried to feed him lunch but he only took two bites.  He cried when he woke up from his nap, but that's pretty normal.  They fed him Cheerios to stop the crying.

Grande didn't want to leave when we went to pick him up.  He barely said hi to me, just looked and then ran off to ride a tricycle.

Let's see how the week goes.

Pink Princess Pony Party

Today was Mini's 5th birthday party at Midtown Terrace Playground.  Her chosen theme was Pink (the color), My Little Pony, and princesses.  We hosted with a Disney Princess bounce house, crown-making craft table, sweet pink treats, lots of yummy BBQ, and a big pink strawberry cake topped with My Little Pony figurines.

Mini was a gracious host to her friends (after much practice) and had a blast with about 45 of her friends, classmates, and siblings.  I hope you remember this party and savor it since your next one won't be until you turn sixteen!

No.

Here we go again... another phase of the "No" word.

Grande started to say "no" yesterday and it's been a continuous string of no, no, no for almost everything.  

It's funny when he uses it on Mini because he's so authoritative about it.  Give her a little taste of her own medicine, hee.

Happy 5th Birthday to Mini

The big 5!  We had a "Minion" birthday cake to celebrate the big day.  Wow, 5!

Grande at Disneyland

Grande's first trip to Disneyland!  Little man handled it like a champ and played till he dropped.

He rode all the rides allowable (didn't meet the 32in height requirement).  Mad Tea Party, it's a small world, Toy Story Mania, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Flik's Flyers, Heimlich's Chew Chew Train, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, and some others.

This stop was part of our summer road trip to San Diego and Los Angeles.  Spent eight days splashing in kiddie pools, discovering kid museums, building sand castles at beaches, going on nature walks, and getting much needed R&R at Omni La Costa Resort.

Last Bottle

Tonight, you had your last drink.  

We on vacation and taking this opportunity to wean Grande from the bottle.  Cold turkey.  Hopefully.

First Movie Theater

A hot summer day, no better way to beat the heat than going to the movie theater.  Took the kids for their first big screen experience (Penguins of Madagascar) and it was a success.  Both kids behaved themselves and it turned out to be quite fun.  Mini watched the entire movie and said she wanted to do it again.  Grande ate so much popcorn and fell asleep an hour in.  But he didn't get scared and laughed at the funny penguins.  The only negative - both kids were too light and the theater seats kept collapsing and folding the kids in.  I had to hold both seats down for most of the movie.
